Heritage
Provenance
Velvetine is not a generic felt. It is a purpose-engineered casino cloth designed for professional use. The same base fabric is installed on licensed casino floors across the UK and Europe, where it is expected to withstand thousands of hands per day while maintaining consistent card slide and colour vibrancy.
When you order a layout from us, your design is dye-sublimation printed directly into the fibres in our London facility. The ink becomes part of the fabric - it does not sit on the surface. This means no cracking, no peeling, and no fading under normal use.
There is a weight and softness to the cloth that cheaper alternatives cannot fake. A dense polyester pile sits on a stabilising backing that holds shape while allowing just enough give to fit tight and flat across a table, so layouts go on cleanly without wrinkles. The same backing carries the fire-retardant protection through to UK contract-furnishing standards.
Protection
Sealed Against Spills
Casino tables get drinks spilled on them. Every Velvetine layout is finished with a nano coating - a clear, invisible seal that holds liquid on the surface instead of letting it soak in.
A knocked-over glass of wine or coffee beads on top and wipes straight off, with no stain and no soaking. That means faster clean-ups, less downtime mid-event, and layouts that stay presentable for longer. The coating does not change the feel of the cloth or the way cards slide - the performance you expect from Velvetine is untouched.
Performance
Why Velvetine
Dealer-Friendly Playing Surface
A smooth, consistent surface keeps cards and chips moving cleanly and predictably across the whole layout. Dealers and players notice the difference the moment a hand is dealt.
Vibrant Colour Reproduction
Dye-sublimation printing bonds colour directly into the Velvetine fibres. Your brand colours, logos, and design elements reproduce with accuracy and depth that surface-printed alternatives cannot match.
Built for Continuous Use
Velvetine is rated for continuous, multi-shift casino use. Abrasion resistance, colour fastness, and dimensional stability are all engineered into the fabric from the outset, so a layout in heavy rotation looks the same after a season as it did on day one.
